"I'm Yours" has long been a favorite song of mine from Jason Mraz, a fabulous musical artist, ever since I first heard him sing it in concert in 2005. It has gotten a lot of recognition on the internet and has been a favorite with many others, and now it is finally going to be a single.

This recording is a good one, including the trademarks of a Mraz song that endears his music to his devoted fans. It also has a lot of potential to catch the attention of those who aren't so familiar with him yet.

A great song to listen to at any time, and a surefire way to cheer up if you're feeling down.

Apparently coming from a somewhat obscure YouTube video, Straight No Chaser gives a quirky take on the beloved classic for the first minute and a half, and a '12 Days' take on the Toto's "Africa" the second half. It's random, it's a novelty all the way, but most of all it's fun. It's fun to hear them randomly break into different Christmas songs, while still coming back to '12 Days'. And with the added element of the Acapella vocals, it separates itself even more because every one of the ten members has a great voice.

Overall, these guys are a great story, and they have this fun song to thank for it. A classic Christmas novelty for years to come; try it, and you're guaranteed a genuine Christmas smile.

No, Beyonce or J.Lo. did not make this song, nor is it in yo face sexual. Nope, just good old fashioned fun and dance. And it's catchy, whether this is a good thing, since it got it from its over simplistic nature, is a different story.

This could be the surprise song of the year, in a year full of surprises, because let's admit it, did anybody see this song becoming a national hit? I think it says something about the state of dance music. I mean, any top 10 hit is given a BPM, and sent to the clubs, and sometimes your radio. These songs are cheap shots at great music, and I take them as an insult. I mean, I can't tell whether we're supposed to dance or laugh at these "re-mixes."

"Shake It" is simple on the verses, which is typical of Metro Station, but they bring it on the chorus, and they bring it home in a big way. The chorus is catchy, fun, happy and it could start a new dance craze, if their was more of a dance to create.

So overall, the verses aren't that great, but the chorus is what makes the song. It might not be original, but it's fun. Here's to the continued success of "Shake It" and Metro Station. And remember, get your groove on and "Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake It!"

Seems like Christmas starts earlier and earlier every year, and this year the new albums have already started coming out. "Country" and "Christmas" have always gone hand in hand, and this is Faith Hill's very first album of Christmas music.

There are ten traditional carols, plus the single "A Baby Changes Everything", and the album has a big band sound that will remind you of those old black and white holiday movies that they dig out every single year.

"A Baby Changes Everything" puts the Christmas story in a modern light, beginning:
"Teenage girl, much too young / Unprepared for what's to come / A baby changes everything"
and ending:
"My whole life is turned around / I was lost and now I'm found / A baby changes everything"

I found that on a couple of the tracks Faith out-sang the backing orchestra, but the following songs are the ones to put on your playlist this season:

Joy to the World
What Child is This?
Little Drummer Boy
Away in a Manger
O Holy Night
Winter Wonderland
A Baby Changes Everything

Thanks Faith, for not changing up the traditional carols and making them unrecognizable, and although the big band sound isn't my thing, this is a warm and fuzzy album to add to your playlist. Recommended for fans of old movies, big bands, and traditional carols.

I first discovered Frontalot before Nerdcore Rising showed up on the scopes, and I am happy to say that Final Boss is the best album yet! Frontalot has a superb gift for intelligent, intricate rhymes, not to mention the most excellent album artwork (which in my opinion is the second drawback to purchasing only the MP3 files -- the main drawback being that Front is receiving less of your money which he so richly deserves). Once you've bought the MP3s here, also buy the CD from Frontalot.

After decades of listening to literally thousands of records and CDs, "Electric Ladyland" still holds a strong position in my list of top 5 recordings of all time. After two landmark albums of the psychodelic era, Hendrix reaches new heights of creativity in the incredible "double LP" release. The long version of Voodoo Chile, which features Steve Winwood and Jack Cassidy (bassist from the Jefferson Airplane), is one of the best hard blues jams of all time. Following a set of shorter titles, including the superb "Gypsy Eyes" and "Burning the Midnight Lamp", you are presented with another great blues jam --- "Rainy Day, Dream Away". Now that Jimi has your blood really flowing, he soothes you back to earth with the dreamy combination of "1983" and "Moon, Turn the Tides". You then soar back up with four more acid rock masterpieces, including the famous Hendrix cover of Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower". If you do not own any Hendrix albums, this is absolutely the one to get! You will not be disappointed.

I recently downloaded this song on my zune player and I must say that this song is very beautiful and uplifting. I love the message in the song where she basically communicates that she will be strong and happy regardless of external circumstances. One of the high notes of the song is where she raises her voice methodically when she says "take me away" and I love how the vocals blend together in "I got a love that's mine" and the creative use of the ending lyrics "I know I'll be alright". This is definitely I song to listen to when you crave something that is energetic, upbeat, and will cheer you up. You can even listen to the song when you are already cheerful.

Not only is "Decode" the standout song on the otherwise somewhat bland soundtrack of "Twilight" (don't get me wrong...there are a few decent tracks, just not with this kind of energy), this rocker is also one of Paramore's better songs on any album...it bests "Let The Flames Begin" from "Riot" and is reminiscent of Flyleaf, a band that takes their rock seriously.

While Paramore has always been high-energy, some songs tend to drift toward pleasing the teenage demographic...not so with "Decode", the tone and straight-ahead rock nature should help this band with their reputation for a much larger rock audience of all ages.

A nice, smooth rocker from the Boss. The song feels like an old friend, familiar, yet also different. It reminded me a lot of Bobby Jean and No Surrender from Born In The USA. These are the types of songs that seem almost effortless from Springsteen. I think this bodes well for the new album coming in January! If you liked Born In The USA or some of the songs off of disc 3 & 4 of Tracks then you will like this.

Don't expect this to be more than a catchy pop dance tune, and you won't be disappointed. There are other venues for discourse on gender relations which do much more a service to their serious consideration. This song is just about having fun, feeling attracted to someone, and acting on that feeling in an "innocent" way. Determining just how innocent is left as an exercise for the listener.

Undoubtingly, when it comes down to the so-called "It Girls", most of them are really more about the hype like Rihanna, Jordin Sparks, and the divas that seem to miss out for their songs by being flimsy and cheap. As for Leona Lewis, I am very impressed with the depth of not just her voice, but the songs that she has shown with style and heart. They really don't feel like they are overexposed. Her second single, Better In Time, from her debut album Spirit, really isn't a bad song. The feeling here is a bit more somber with heart, unlike Bleeding In Love, but the song really sounds very well handed. I hope Leona keeps that songstress style coming, she really is the best thing out there right now, and that is better with time.

Say what you want about Nickelback, they're one of, if not the most popular rock group today. And their "most annoying" is their best song. The song is basically wanting the life of a Rockstar, which Nickelback is, so... not the most original theme. In fact, this song is more cliched than a international South Park cartoon character. But, what makes the song is the catchiness. You'll have it stuck in your head whether you like it or not, and soon, in the middle of a crowded elevator, you'll start singing, "I'm going to pop my pills with a pez dispenser." This may of course cause you much embarrassment, and will cause you to smash your radio. But in the end, it's a rock song, and Nickelback's best rock song, and maybe best song period. I'm not saying it's a great song, just Nickelback's best song, because it's so darn catchy.

Overall, there are many warnings to give before getting this song, and they are too numerous to name here. So, be warned, you might not like, or get out of your head, what you hear.

What's the best way to get your name out there? Do something everybody likes by making it as radio-friendly as possible. Thus is Saving Abel's strategy with this song. But while they may not be inventing the wheel, it is a guilty-pleasure type song that's catchy and something everybody likes.

The music is the very definition of modern rock, and the lyrics and here and there and he's angry at his girlfriend or something and... well I just can't keep track. But he does throw in a profanity or two just to get that rock street cred, because let's face it, what kind of modern rocker are you if you don't cuss every once in a while.

Radio-friendly to the core, if you love modern rock, or even just like it, you'll have your hands all over this song. It never aspires to be more than it is, and naturally success is following.

Does Rihanna need to release 38 singles a year? And do 37 of them really need to have some kind of 'aaa, aaaa, aaaaa' hook to them? Seriously, her songs sound like she's learning her phonics (ella ella ella aaaa aaaaa aaaaa) vs. actually singing.

This song sounds cobbled together from 2-3 individual songs from the beginning, and like most Rihanna songs, overproduced to hide her rather thin vocal abilities.

Message of the song is fine, but please get someone who isn't totally and completely overexposed and oversaturated to sing it next time.

For Britney Spears, her life has really been placed on too much overdrive. With her perfromance recently on Good Morning America, and her recent documentary on MTV Britney: For The Record, she has shown that she has been more unhappy not having control over her life, than her career coming to full force. That is shown on her latest single Circus, the second songle and title track from her latest album. She doesn't feel like she has captured a new essence to that next level. The song feels like it rehashed from the beats from her earlier material like I'm A Slave For U. I really felt like she has run out of songs, and her feeling is that she just doesn't want to sing anymore. I think she needs to put time off from her career, and get those loose ends of her life together.

Oddly, there seem to be two pages for this actually single mp3. Therefore, this review is merely a copy of my other review.

I've been an incredible fan of TSO, not having missed a concert in four years, owning all of their albums. Additionally, I own every Savatage album, and some of Jon Oliva's side project too. So, with an extensive history in TSO, 'tage and O'Neill, I say: This is amazing?

Beethoven's Last Night is incredible. The pacing of songs is well done. This song, however, is merely a chorus. There are no catchy riffs, no emotional buildups... I'm not saying that talent-wise, this track is poor. The vocals are impressive, especially the beautiful female singer. However, there is more to music than technical talent. This song is just plain boring. It has no builds, no crescendo. It fluctuates, sure, but the song as a whole builds to nothing. I find the chorus more obnoxious than well-utilized here - there is simply too much of it. The chorus works so well in Beethoven's Last Night because it is used sparsely and wisely, at excellent moments of crescendo or power. In that album, the chorus is my favorite aspect. Here, however, the chorus dominates the entire song here. Additionally, the overproduction is just painful. The song is so clean, it's sterile. I truly wish that this song had more soul - it SHOULD.

By utilizing a chorus, the song attempts to be "epic", surely. But the fact is that the song hardly achieves that goal, because it fails to build to a climax. There are many small ones, but they only serve to make the song disjointed. There was a level of majesty that could have been reached in "Night Enchanted" that was not. This is disappointing because their rendition of Carmina Burana is truly marvelous. I have high hopes for this album and certainly I will buy it the minute it's released. If it mirrors this track, however, it will be a disappointing purchase. Too much of a good thing is a time-tested adage, and it proves true here as well. Perhaps in the context of the album this song will be better. At least it tells us something - they've actually written more than one song, so maybe this album does exist and will be released one day.

Beyonce's "If I were a boy" is a cover of a '60s soul song. Former Destiny's Child frontwoman Beyonce sings how tender and understanding she'd be to her woman. She has a beautiful voice-- unfortunately, the song is forgettable. It doesn't rise to the guilty pleasure glory "I kissed a girl" (the Katy Perry or Jill Sobule version)

"If I were a boy" is at once Beyonce singing from the perspective of a woman with a cheating, jealous boyfriend, with her closing "you're just a boy" and as a woman fantasizing about how she'd care about her lady. It's got a simmering sapphic undercurrent. If Beyonce were a boy, she'd be quite a man!

A fantastic first single to Jason Mraz's latest album, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. It's a nice balance between a nice beach summer song and the creative tunes we're heard from Mraz on his past two albums. I agree with one of the other reviewers that this song is a bit Jimmy Buffet-ish, but I think this is more indicative of Mraz tipping his hat to Buffet rather than being a copy-cat of Buffet's work. Mraz certainly has his own creative identity, and this new album as a whole reflects his evolution as a singer-songwriter.

As far as Katy Perry goes, 'Hot and Cold' is, IMO, a better song than 'I Kissed A Girl'. The initial appeal of 'Kissed A Girl' was the shock value...which was somewhat clever and creative...but that's about as far as the song went.

The groove is stronger, and the chorus has a better melody for Katy to showcase her vocals. I'm not saying she's the greatest singer in the world or anything close to it, but this song is much less likely to become old like 'Kissed A Girl' did. I was tired of that one after just a few weeks.

I think the fact that this song is not as "catchy" is actually in its favor...when long-term listening is factored in. I don't think it will be on the charts as long, and therefore won't be as overplayed.

This song is very upbeat. It has a fun vibe to it, and you will either be snapping your fingers or tapping your foot or dancing. If not, then you don't necessarily see yourself as a Beyonce fan.

If you have liked her upbeat numbers in the past, this one shall satisfy. I have liked it since the second listen and I'm not turning back. I have it as a ringtone and it's very fun and almost always gets me dancing or snapping my fingers as I sing along. :^)
